Cardi B would face up to 10 years in prison if convicted

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – The rapper of Dominican origin Bercalis Almánzar (Cardi B), would face up to 10 years in prison, if she is convicted on two counts, in relation to the violent attack on the waitress sisters, Rachel Wattley, 21, and Sarah Wattley, of 23 in a strip club in Queens in 2018 for alleged jealousy with the victims, whom he accused of having slept with her husband the rapper Offset.

Two friends of the rapper, who were included in the file and allegedly participated in the attack, were also charged.

The artist, was accused in October 2018, after being processed on Monday first of that date in the barracks 109 of Queens and has had to attend several preliminary hearings in the Criminal Court of that county.

A spokesman for the Attorney General’s Office said the case with the new charges will be prosecuted in the Queens State Supreme Court.

The file was sealed until Tuesday, the charges are officially instructed.

Prosecutors offered her a 5-year probation agreement and an electronic GPS bracelet to monitor her movements, if she pleaded guilty, but she declined the offer and will have to go to trial.

On Friday, the District Attorney’s Office in Queens filed the charges, including assault, battery and reckless behavior.

The judge maintained a restraining order against the rapper so that she stays away and without any contact with the waitresses.

The rapper, 26 years old, was originally charged with minor charges for the incident that occurred on August 29, 2018 in the club “Angels Strippers“, where she, according to the indictment, accompanied by other women and several men, starred in the attack the waitresses.

“She was prosecuted and we can not confirm her charges,” Queens District Attorney John M. Ryan told local media.

The Grand Jury delivered the indictment for the three accused, who will be tried in the Supreme Court,” said the prosecutor.

According to images from a video that recorded images of the assault, Cardi B threw an ice cube at the waitresses, while he was in the company of a group of 10, including his bodyguards.
