After the preliminary results issued by the Central Electoral Board, Junta Central Electoral (JCE) showed the advantage that the candidate for mayor of the National District has for the Modern Revolutionary Party, Partido Revolucionario Moderno (PRM), Carolina Mejía, she thanked her followers for voting for her.
During a celebration in her campaign command Carolina said: “I thank each one of you who are here accompanying me, all the comrades who have worked day and night in these last three months, working for this triumph.”
He also thanked his family, his party and assured that he is very satisfied with the results he has obtained so far.
However, he indicated that he will not go ahead proclaiming himself as the winner of the municipal elections, but rather wait for the JCE to issue the final bulletin as established by law.
“Thanks to the capitaleños who have placed their trust in me. That they were able to go in February and make the effort to vote and not be able to do so at that time and have done it again today. Thank you for that vote of confidence that I guaranteed you not to I will disappoint, “he said.
When 52.97% have been computed in the National District, Carolina Mejía of the PRM leads the results with 59.87%; while Domingo Contreras of the PLD, 37.83%; in a third place Johnny Ventura 7.17%; Bartolome Pujals 3.96% and Maicol Miguel Holguin 0.44%.
