Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. – Officials of the National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD) with the support of Federal Agents of the United States (US.Marshals) and the coordination of the Public Ministry, arrested in the National District, a Dominican accused of conspiracy, heroin trafficking and other charges in the United States.
Anyerson de la Cruz Rosario, 41, was arrested on 27 de Febrero Avenue, Leopoldo Navarro corner, through a search and follow-up operation by DNCD officers.
The Dominican is required by the Supreme Court of the State of New York, which accuses him of conspiracy in the second degree (heroin), also to operate as a trafficker, criminal possession of a controlled substance (Fentanyl), in violation of the criminal laws of the United States.
Anyerson de la Cruz Rosario was wanted in the country for several years and was formally charged with the charges of illicit drug trafficking in New York on March 17, 2016, according to the minutes.
“The detainee is in a prison waiting to meet the legal requirements in the country and then be extradited to the United States,” the note said.
The DNCD and the Public Ministry have arrested in the country, in the last six months, more than 25 foreigners and Dominicans, claimed by the United States and other countries as part of the work of cooperation to combat and prosecute transnational crime.
