Judge release Marlin Martínez involved in the case of Emely Peguero

San Francisco de Macorís. – Judge Carminia Caminero Sosa, of the Second Criminal Chamber of Duarte, ordered this Wednesday the release of Marlin Martínez who was convicted of participating in the murder of the pregnant teenager Emely Peguero.
The magistrate issued this decision after considering that Martínez was in arbitrary prison after having exceeded the two-year sentence imposed for concealing the body to which she was sentenced by the Court.
After the decision, Emely’s father, Genaro Peguero, stated that the decision was seen to come due to the constant postponements of the hearings.
“I have always said that San Francisco de Macorís is the killer of corruption. We expected that so much because they have declined from one jurisdiction to another, San Francisco de Macorís is where the most corrupt judges are,” he said.
In that order, the defense attorney, José Hoepelman affirmed that the process will continue in the Supreme Court of Justice.
The supreme is in control of the resource and if there are rights. But I go back and repeat, if there are fundamental guarantees in favor of the accused, they also exist in favor of us who represent the victim and in that search for justice for ourselves we cannot try to violate the rights of others, “he said at the end of the hearing .
