La Romana, RD. Los Toros del Este acquired the services of the slugger Yamaico Navarro from the Tigres del Licey in exchange for the initialist Carlos Franco, informed Raymond Abreu, general manager of the bullfighting.
Navarro has been one of the leading hitters in the Dominican league in recent seasons, including two RBI and one homer in recent years.
“Yamaico is a proven bat and will fill that gap of having a right bat that we need so much in the heart of the lineup,” said the manager of Los Toros. “Navarro can play multiple positions, knows the league and will have a great impact on the team. Lino has directed it and knows the damage it can do to opponents, “Abreu added.
Navarro, 31, has a lifetime average of .272 and a .377 on-base percentage with 17 home runs and 105 RBIs in 186 regular-season games. The native of San Pedro de Macorís has almost the same number of tickets (110) as strikeouts (111) with the uniform of the Tigers.
His bat has also been felt in the playoffs with an OBP of .368 in Round Robins and .409 in the Final Series.
Yamaico leaves the Blues being among the historical leaders in batting, homers, RBIs, hits, doubles, among other lines.
Franco in three seasons with the Toros averaged .244 with four homers and 36 produced in 97 games, with an OBP of .323.
“We greatly appreciate the delivery of Carlos during his years with the Bulls,” Raymond Abreu ended.
