Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. – Five days remain in jail for Marlin Martínez, since on August 30 he will serve the sentence of two years of imprisonment imposed by the Court of Appeal of the Duarte province, for his involvement in the concealment of the Corpse of teenager Emely Peguero, who was pregnant and who was killed by her son Marlon Martínez.
His lawyer Ingrid Hidalgo says there is nothing that prevents the departure of his client.
Hidalgo’s position is shared by other lawyers who secure the appeal by raising by the prosecutor does not prevent his release.
According to these lawyers, the ruling could only start a new trial and not vary the sentence.
It is recalled that on May 15 of the current year, the Court of Appeal of the Duarte province received the appeal partially, since the qualification was varied in the case of Marlon Martínez, ratifying the sentence to the maximum penalty 30 years in prison, however, in relation to Marlin Martínez, the qualification of child abduction and corpse concealment was varied, so she was sentenced in the first degree to only the latter crime, with a penalty reduction of five Two years in prison.
