Miguel Feris is the new president of the Estrellas Orientales

SAN PEDRO DE MACORÍS.  The shareholders meeting of the Sports Corporation of San Pedro de Macoris, owner of the Estrellas Orientales baseball team, chose Miguel Feris Jr. as its president on Monday.

The elected president is the son of Dr. Miguel Feris Iglesias, founding president of the aforementioned Sports Corporation.

The new president has several years as a member of his board, in which he held the position of vice president and succeeds the lawyer José Manuel Mallén Santos, positions that came to show both following the death of Dr. Miguel Feris Iglesias.

Next to the engineer Miguel Feris were elected: José Manuel Mallén Calac, 1st Vice President; Pável Aguiló, Executive Vice President; Ernesto Armenteros Calac, Treasurer; Jesus Feris Ferrus, Secretary; Luis Manuel Aguiló, Vice President of Marketing and Communications; and as vowels the gentlemen: José Hazim Torres,

Kalil Haché, Diones Pimentel Aguiló, Ramón Zaglul, Alejandro González, César Mella, Roberto Camino, Alexia Feris Ferrus, Laurence Hazoury Toca, Luis Guerrero Feris, Roberto Herrera, Luis Mejía Brache, and Luis Velasquez.

Engineer Feris said the club will continue with the hard work that led him to be crowned champion in the last tournament. He noted that teamwork will continue to be the main value in the execution of those who have the mission to lead the club.

He also promised that in the coming days he will make some important announcements regarding the structuring of the team, facing the next professional baseball season.
