SANTO DOMINGO Santo Domingo . – The Public Ministry of the Santo Domingo West Judicial District managed to get three months of preventive detention, as a measure of coercion, for two men accused of assaulting a vehicle sales dealer in the Engombe sector by armed force.
The Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of this jurisdiction imposed the measure of coercion on the defendants Ambiorix Rodríguez Payano and Danny Miguel Soriano, ordering compliance in the National Penitentiary of La Victoria.
The request for the imposition of coercive measures requires that on June 12 of this year both convicts allegedly penetrated the commercial establishment armed and once inside the place they gave several blows to the head of the owner of the business, whose name is omitted for reasons security, and tied four employees with tairas.
It indicates that the accused stole a black DVR, belonging to the surveillance team of the establishment, as well as two vehicles five cell phones of different models and brands, and the sum of twenty thousand (RD $ 20,000.00) pesos in cash, among others.
Regarding this case, the Public Ministry explained that it has granted the provisional legal classification of association of criminals, robbery with violence and weapons, facts described and sanctioned by articles 265, 266, 309, 379 and 384 of the Dominican Penal Code, in addition of articles 66, 67, 84 and 85 of Law No. 631-16 on Arms, Ammunition and Related Materials.
The institution of the justice system explained that it requested the imposition of preventive detention because the defendants do not have sufficient roots to appear in the next requirements of the judicial process that is brought against them.
