Public Works disinfects public spaces in San Francisco de Macorís

SANTO DOMINGO. – Brigades and teams from the Ministry of Public Works carried out a sanitation and disinfection operation in the San Francisco de Macorís municipality.

The operation carried out for the second time included public spaces, hospital and clinical centers, public and private institutions, parks, streets and avenues.

Minister Ramón Pepín assured that the sanitation and disinfection operation will reach every corner of the Duarte province, including all its municipalities.

“This operation will be taken to every corner of the Dominican Republic and when we enter a province we will go municipality by municipality. So rest assured that the operation will reach every corner of the Duarte province, “he explained.

The city of San Francisco de Macorís has been one of the most affected, due to the number of people infected, by the Covid-19 pandemic. Several work teams were in charge of the tasks, which included bank branches, supermarkets, clinics, parks. Disinfection work was also carried out in the New Market of the Duarte Terminal.

The works were led by Vice Ministers Euclides Sánchez and Pedro Peña Rubio, Captain Luis Manuel Féliz José, Director of Social Plans of the MOPC, and Lieutenant Colonel Douglas Borrell, of the Military and Police Commission.
