Telegram creator affirms that WhatsApp will never be safe

The creator of Telegram Pavel Durov has indicated that the messaging application and current WhatsApp competition has never offered security for users practically since it was created.

Durov’s comments were published by him in an extensive written review in his personal blog in which he attacked directly to the messaging application belonging to Facebook for his questioned security.

The root of his criticism against WhatsApp was due to the controversy occurred a few days ago when it was learned that all the chats of various representatives of associations in defense of human rights were totally hacked.

WhatsApp in the controversy

According to the creator of Telegram, the world’s most widely used messaging application has a long history of flaws with regard to the security of chat rooms.

“WhatsApp turns each phone into a spy,” continued Durov in his comment, reminding everyone that last year was the company itself who assumed that it was enough to make a video call to access all the data on a device.

Moreover, according to Durov himself, every time the company seems to have solved all its security problems, immediately a completely new one emerges, calling this intentional system “the back door”.

In simpler words, this way of acting is when companies leave certain application codes open so that different companies or even governments can easily access the systems and content of information in the application.

These would be the photos, videos, chats and other files shared through a WhatsApp conversation. Pavel Durov concludes his comment by ensuring that his Telegram application does have open source but is encrypted and therefore has never suffered a great leak, unlike his competition which leaves much to be desired his current security section.

Finally, Durov’s criticisms are directed to Facebook, where he concludes his attacks by questioning all the security section that exists in that company, which is already known to suffer serious vulnerabilities and have already suffered strong criticism worldwide, leaving virtually no credibility to its founder Mark Zuckerberg.
