SANTO DOMININGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – Officials of the National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD) with the support of Federal Agents (US Marshall) of the United States, arrested in La Romana a Dominican accused of sexually violating a minor of 16 years in the State of Massachusetts.
Francisco Manuel Brito, 51 years old, was formally charged with the crime on February 10, 2014 and was arrested in the country through a follow-up operation on Caamaño Deñó Avenue in the aforementioned province.
An order issued by the Dominican Supreme Court of Justice was issued against the accused, in response to a request for extradition by the United States, a country that requires him to answer before the Supreme Court of the County of Suffolk, Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
“The man was wanted in the country for several years and his capture corresponds to the work of cooperation and coordination maintained by the Dominican Republic with the United States and other allied countries,” the note said.
The Dominican authorities have arrested in the last four months at least 30 foreigners and Dominicans who have been requested in extradition from several countries for having pending matters with the justice.
