SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic. – Onamet reported that weather conditions will continue to predominate in a generally dry and stable environment over a large part of the country due to the atmospheric stability that continues to provide anticyclonic circulation, except for some cloudy concentrations accompanied by local squalls that are very focused towards isolated areas of Los Haitises and the mountain range in the afternoon hours.
He said that due to the local conditions of the island, while for the night and early morning an increase in the cloudiness is predicted causing the occurrence of scattered rains to several provinces of the east and southeast of the country, by the arrival of a trough .
He said that by Saturday, cloudiness will continue to increase from morning hours to continue to occur dispersed rains, which locally could be moderate, isolated thunderstorms and possible gusts of wind mainly concentrated towards several provinces of the regions: northeast, southeast, southwest, north and the Central mountain range by the incidence of the trough.
On Sunday, the trough will continue to produce scattered rains, which could be moderated locally to some locations in the Southeast, Northeast, Southwest, Central Cordillera, and the border region, mostly during the afternoon and early evening hours.
Temperatures during the day will feel warm especially in urban areas, being pleasant at night and early morning, especially in mountainous areas.
The National Office of Meteorology (ONAMET), encourages the population to make rational use of water, due to the effects of seasonal drought, which has been accentuated in the regions: northeast, south, southwest and north / northwest.
