They seize 471 packages of cocaine and arrest three

ANDRES, BOCA CHICA. –The National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), in coordination with the Public Ministry and the support of several security agencies, confiscated 471 packages of cocaine this morning at the Multimodal Caucedo Port and arrested three men who would be linked to the millionaire stash.

In a report offered by the DNCD it indicates that the packages of cocaine, whose exact amount of kilos will be determined by the Institute of Forensic Sciences, were disseminated in 18 packages located by the anti-drug agents and the Security of the Port.

The packages were to be shipped to Rotterdam, Holland, aboard the ship CGM-Tanya.

The DNCD reported that the three men arrested, all of Dominican origin, were caught when they introduced the l8 packages to a container.

As reported by the, the result of the discovery of the millionaire stash of cocaine, was thanks to an arduous work of more than l4 hours, in combination with the Public Ministry and the various security agencies of the Multimodal Port Caucedo.

The agency informed that the three men arrested allegedly responsible for the cargo, tried to escape in a bighead truck, being trapped in the same port where they hit a wall.

The DNCD and the Public Ministry said that in addition to the truck, they were also occupied by a 38 gauge revolver, several capsules, a balaclava, two shears, a security seal, white weapons and cell phones.

Both the Drug Control Directorate and the Public Prosecutor’s Office decided to expand the investigations in this case, with the purpose of determining whether it is an international network of drug traffickers that used the Port to move drug shipments.

The authorities promised to offer in the next few hours, the names of those arrested and if there are other people linked to the cocaine stash, whose origin was not disclosed.
