Tiffany Ortiz: “David was transferred from the intensive care unit”

SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – Tiffany Ortiz, wife of David Ortiz, has published that the expelotero of Great Leagues already was discharged of intensive care.

“David was transferred from the intensive care unit at Massachusetts General Hospital, remains in good condition and continues to recover,” he says in a post on his Instagram account.

The baseball star was shot and wounded last Sunday, June 9, while he was in a nightclub located on Presidente Vásquez Street, near the corner of Avenida Venezuela, in Ensanche Ozama, Santo Domingo Este.

After the incident, the baseball star received first aid at the Abel González medical center, located in the National District, where his gallbladder and part of the intestines were also removed.

After that operation, Ortiz was transferred on Monday, June 10, in an ambulance plane from the Las Americas International Airport to the General Hospital of Massachusetts in Boston, where he remained in intensive care until this Saturday.

In the attack of which the player was victim, was wounded in one leg and with the same bullet communicator Jhoel Lopez, who has had a process of recovery faster.

In the case there are 11 people arrested who have been given coercion measures for one year. According to the authorities, the attack was not against David Ortiz, but for Sixto David Fernández, a friend of the player who would have been sent to kill by his relative Víctor Hugo Vásquez, who is a fugitive and allegedly related to an international drug cartel.
